Uno splendido sole ha riscaldato i 400 atleti al via della seconda edizione del TriStar Lyon disputatosi domenica 15 luglio.
In campo maschile da registrare la vittoria per distacco del duatleta belga Joerie Vansteelant, da qualche mese votatosi al triathlon (già vincitore del TriStar Mallorca) che, nonostante il distacco accumulato nel nuoto, ha preso la testa della corsa a metà frazione ciclistica e si è involato sicuro verso la vittoria.
I restanti gradini del podio se li sono giocati fino all’ultimo lo svizzero Olivier Marceau e l’inglese Ben Howard, con il campione rossocrociato, ma francese di nascita, che solo negli ultimi metri è riuscito a conquistare la seconda posizione.
Anche tra le donne abbiamo assistito a una vittoria di larga misura da parte della francese Delphine Pelletier, che ha relegato al secondo posto la connazionale Isabelle Ferrer e al terzo la svizzera Barbara Bracher.
Unico italiano al via Stefano Volpetti che ha chiuso la sua fatica in 5:03:38.
Di contorno, si è disputato anche un TriStar 55.5.
